Housing and Residential Communities (HRC) provides Community Living Standards for all students who are living on campus in an HRC-administered building.

Riverside North/East Hall Specifications

Riverside Hall offers residents a fully furnished, quad-occupancy suite with two bathrooms that is shared among roommates. The hall is centrally located near all UA ACTivate course sessions and activities. Residents have access to the residence hall common areas.  

Hanging Items on Walls

Please do not hang or stick anything to or damage the walls in any way during your stay with the UA ACTivate program. While this is a residential experience, it is short in duration and has a quick turn-around time. Please be respectful and careful with the space during your stay.

Bedroom

Approximate room dimensions: 11’W x 10’L 

Furniture provided for each resident:

• Extended twin bed and mattress (36”W x 80”L), adjustable height up to 33” max from floor. (bed rails available)
• Desk (2 pieces) (desk, 30” W x 24” D x 30” H) (storage unit, 18” W x 24” D x 30”H)
• Desk chair
• 3-drawer dresser (30”W x 24D” x 30″H)

Furniture shared by residents:  

• 1 sofa
• 1 lounge chair
• 3 multi-use cubes (small shelving units)
• 1 dining table with 4 dining chairs (2 dining chairs in 1- and 2-bedroom suites)

Bathroom

• Two bathrooms shared by four residents 
• Private toilet and shower stall (with curtain liner)
• Sink and vanity in hallway
• Storage under sink

Living Room & Kitchenette

• Approx. living room dimensions: 12’W x 31’L
• Approx. window dimensions: 87”W x 62.5”H, mini blinds provided
• Full refrigerator (compact fridge in 1-bedroom suites), sink, microwave and cabinets for storage

Kitchen Supplies Provided

• Paper towels
• Garbage bags
• Paper plates / napkins / utensils

Bathroom Supplies Provided

• Toilet tissue
• Shower curtain liner

What to Bring

• Toiletries
• Bed linens and pillow
• Towels and wash cloths
• Additional snacks/drinks 
• Comfortable walking shoes (we will walk to all of our activities)
• Water bottle (it is important to remain hydrated as we will be out in the heat for our tours and walking from one activity to another)

Maintenance issues in your room?  

To report emergency maintenance issues after business hours, contact your UA ACTivate staff member or 24-hour community desk. If you encounter an emergency, contact UAPD at 205-348-5454.

For problems with A/C, heat, locks, and/or leaks, including problems with UA-owned appliances (dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, washer, or dryer), contact UA ACTivate staff. The on-call staff members will assist you in contacting appropriate staff members to help solve your facility issue.
